iMultiply are delighted to be engaged on the exciting opportunity of Account Assistant for an ever-expanding business based in Edinburgh. The role is offering a salary of £20,000 - £24,000 with additional benefits.

The Company  

A venture capital and investment business that is specialising in start-up opportunities. Their current portfolio is wide-ranging consisting of technology to engineering start-ups. Having gained a sustainable portfolio, the company is now forecasting further investments and an increase in workload.

The Role

You will be responsible for the financial management and administration of the company and their portfolio of companies. The volume of transactions is relatively low, but demands a focus on understanding and accuracy, therefore, you’ll be expected to deliver high levels of accurate, quality work with exceptional attention to detail. This is a great chance for someone with good communication and people skills to work in a diverse, energetic and interesting work environment where staff development is taken very seriously and there may the prospect for further progression within the business.

On Offer

The position of Accounts Assistant will offer a salary of £20,000 - £24,000 including an excellent benefits package. The offices are based in Edinburgh’s city centre and are easily accessed via public transport.

You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties: 

  • Assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts
  • Monthly journals covering receipts and payments
  • Monthly petty cash analysis and journal posting
  • Expenses analysis and journal posting
  • Bank, supplier statement and stock reconciliation
  • Sending out remittance advice
  • Sales processing and analysis
  • Funds receivable and funds payable
  • Follow-on transactions from sales
  • Processing sales invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Completing Bank utilisation requests and draw downs
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Checking company bank statements and preparing monthly reconciliation.
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers

To be considered for this role you must: 

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance/accounting related role(s)
  • Have experience of operating Sage Line 50 and/or other accounting software
  • Be highly commercially and analytically minded 
  • Have excellent communication and articulation skills
  • Have excellent MS Office Excel skills
