Having gained a sustainable portfolio, the company is now forecasting further investments and an increase in workload.

The Role

You will be responsible for the financial management and administration of the company and their portfolio of companies. The volume of transactions is relatively low, but demands a focus on understanding and accuracy, therefore, you’ll be expected to deliver high levels of accurate, quality work with exceptional attention to detail. The position of Accounts and Administrative Assistant as arisen offering a salary of £23,000 - £26,000 including excellent benefits package. Their offices are based in Edinburgh city centre and are easily accessible via public transport.

You will be responsible but not limited to the following duties: 

  • Assisting with the preparation of Management Accounts
  • Monthly journals covering receipts and payments
  • Monthly petty cash analysis and journal posting
  • Expenses analysis and journal posting
  • Bank, supplier statement and stock reconciliation
  • Sending out remittance advice
  • Sales processing and analysis
  • Funds receivable and funds payable
  • Follow-on transactions from sales
  • Processing sales invoices, receipts, and payments
  • Completing Bank utilisation requests and draw downs
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Checking company bank statements and preparing monthly reconciliation.
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years practical experience of operating as an Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper
  • Experiences using SAGE accounting software is essential
  • Commercially and analytically minded
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with senior internal and external stakeholder
