A large Chartered Accountancy firm requires the services of a Qualified Accountant to take on an Accounting Senior / Assistant Manager position on an Interim basis.

The Company

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing Accounting & Advisory team within a large global accounting firm. They have clients of all sizes, from start-ups to global players, and they have expertise that covers every sector.

The Role

This Interim position has arisen due to the continued expansion of the client-base. This challenging position comes with a varied workload and a diverse portfolio of clients and an ability to multi-task will be essential. Within this team, you will have a client portfolio of SMEs with turnover of up to £10million.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of complex year-end limited company, partnership and sole trader accounts
  • Review of year-end limited company, partnership and sole trader accounts
  • Preparation and review of VAT returns (including partial exemption adjustments)
  • SAGE set-up and training to clients
  • Xero implementations and training to clients
  • Preparation of financial forecasts
  • Lead other ad hoc advisory assignments
  • Support manager in the training and development of junior staff
  • Maintain relationships with client stakeholders

On Offer

This role comes with an equivalent salary of £33-38k, depending on experience, as well as other benefits. This is an on-going temporary position but there may be opportunities to go permanent, depending on the needs of the business, level of performance etc.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • A qualified accountant is preferred but QBEs with broad practical accounting experience will be considered
  • Previous experience in Public Practice is essential
  • Experience of managing and developing junior members of staff is essential
  • Significant experience of:
    • Preparation of year-end accounts
    • Review of year- accounts
    • Preparation and review of VAT returns
    • SAGE set-up and training to clients
    • Xero implementations and training to clients
    • Preparation of financial forecasts
  • Strong business acumen and capacity to influence and convince
  • Strong interpersonal and client handling skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills (including Sage and Xero)
