Accountant/Client Manager - Glasgow

A small, well established Chartered Accountancy firm, based in central Glasgow, requires the services of an experienced Public Practice Accountant to take on a Client Manager position on a permanent basis.

The Role

The position of Client Manager is a client-facing role and comes with a varied workload so the ability to multi-task will be essential. 



  • Management of a portfolio of clients and dealing with their queries
  • Preparation of limited company statutory accounts (below audit limits).
  • Preparation of Corporation tax returns.
  • Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts and personal tax returns.
  • Use of IRIS software and Sage Line 50.
  • Involvement in personal tax, corporate tax, VAT and PAYE work.
  • A good working knowledge of Sage Payroll, RTI and auto enrolment would be helpful.
  • Familiarity with Xero, Quickbooks, Freeagent, Kashflow or Sage One and other online accounting software and tools would be helpful.


On Offer

This role comes with a salary of £25-31k, dependent on experience.


To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • A QBE or Qualified accountant with broad practical accounting experience 
  • Previous experience in Public Practice is essential
  • Significant experience of:
    • Preparation of year-end accounts
    • Preparation and review of VAT returns
    • SAGE set-up and training to clients
    • Strong business acumen and capacity to influence and convince
  • Strong interpersonal and client handling skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills (including Sage and Xero)
  • An enthusiastic and positive individual who enjoys a variety of work and is confident in dealing directly with a wide range of clients.
  • Someone with good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the capacity to work well as part of a team
