An experienced Accountant is required on a permanent basis by a Glasgow-based business.


The Company

Based in Glasgow’s West End, this business has a 30-year track record of delivering excellent services to their clients which results in extremely high levels of repeat custom. They have a fantastic and talented team who are passionate about the business and the services they provide, which leads to positive and inspiring working environment.


The Role

You will be the main point of contact for financial matters on a daily basis, as well as helping to oversee some of the other sides of the business such as HR and IT. The business has a complex Group structure and you will be responsible for completing the monthly accounts for each company in the Group, as well as the consolidated accounts.



  • You will be responsible for producing monthly accounts for multiple entities and consolidating those accounts for the group submission
  • Prepare profit and loss analysis
  • Prepare weekly cash flow analysis
  • Monitor monthly overheads and compare budget against actuals, investigate any variances and report differences to management
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and EC sales returns
  • Review, propose and implement beneficial changes to the company’s current systems and processes
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by management
  • Manage HR function
  • Manage office contracts (IT, printer and phone)


On Offer

For this permanent role, you will be rewarded with an annual salary of £35000 - £40000. The office location is easily accessible by public transport, and there are also parking facilities nearby.


To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • It is essential that you have significant experience of a similar role within a fast-paced, SME environment
  • The business operates across a range of sectors and this adds a level of complexity to the accounting which means that candidates need to have exceptional attention to detail, have the experience to multi-task and deliver reports to multiple line managers
  • It is essential that you have extensive hands-on experience of using Sage and you will have a thorough understanding of the reporting modules included
  • First class Microsoft Excel experience will be required
  • You will have demonstrable experience of analysing and presenting complex data in relation to work-in-progress, cashflow, costing etc
  • Excellent communication skills will be required and you must be comfortable liaising with senior management
