A Glasgow-based Housing Association requires an Interim Accountant for an immediate start.

The Role

As Interim Accountant, you will provide additional support to the existing team and will assist with all BAU finance duties, while also supporting any ad hoc projects.



  • Assist in the completion and presentation of quarterly Management Accounts
  • Produce and distribute monthly management reports  
  • Supervise and coach junior members of the finance team and ensure any issues are flagged to management
  • Review, authorise and process cash and bank payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Prepayments and accruals
  • Update fixed asset register
  • Assist with any ad hoc projects


On Offer

This role is offered on a fixed term basis until Aug 2018, with the possibility for extension depending on performance and the needs of the organisation.

Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.


To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Experience of the Housing sector and the related compliance and regulations is essential
  • You will have demonstrable experience of operating at a similar level as an accountant within a Housing Association
  • Experience of using Open Account and Open Housing will be highly advantageous
  • You must be an experienced user of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills will be required, and you must be comfortable presenting to senior management
