Opportunity to be part of Action for Children’s innovative fundraising event – Captured in the City
What is it?
This is your opportunity to join a select group of business owners, senior managers from leading companies and prominent members of the local community who are to be captured and taken to Edinburgh Forth Road Bridge, where you will be held until you can raise ransom money to secure your release.
Armed only with a mobile phone and a list of business contacts, colleagues and friends; each of the resourceful VIP’s – Very Important Prisoners! - will aim to raise £1000 each in order to secure their release from the bridge.
This event is being staged by Action for Children, the charity committed to helping the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK break through injustice, deprivation and inequality. Money raised from this event will go directly towards supporting their Gilmerton Road extension appeal. The Gilmerton Road service helps families across Edinburgh and the Lothian’s who have a child with a learning disability and severe behavioural problems. It helps them live the lives they choose by providing fun, inclusive and flexible support, including provision of short break care, help for families in dealing with challenging behaviour and provision of specialist education and leisure opportunities. The project currently supports 40 children aged from 0-19 years this number will grow on completion of the extension.
In addition, to raising much needed funds to support this important work, this highly entertaining event has added benefits for the organisations represented:
